WASHINGTON, D.C. (WGAN) Congressman Jared Golden wants to withhold funds for the implementation of restrictions on lobster fishing intended to help the endangered right whale.

According to the Portland Press Herald, Congressman Golden introduced an amendment, co-sponsored by Congresswoman Chellie Pingree, that would block the right whale regulations.

Congressman Golden says that the federal government is asking lobstermen to make huge sacrifices without proof that those sacrifices will positively impact right whales.
