Report of suspicious item leads to evacuation of customers, staff at Buxton Hannaford

Police were called to the Hannaford in Buxton Thursday morning due to the presence of a suspicious item in the parking lot.

According to CBS 13, people were evacuated from Hannaford and other businesses in the shopping plaza.

Police say the item was a pressure cooker.

A bomb technician inspected it, and said it was empty and contained no explosives.

Police say it appears the pressure cooker was accidentally left in the parking lot by a customer.
