MOUNT WASHINGTON, New Hampshire (WGAN) An 80-year-old hiker rescued while trying to reach the summit of Mount Washington may have to pay for his rescue.

James Clark was found Friday with signs of hypothermia, according to our info partners at CBS 13 news. Clark had told his grandsons to go on without him, and those grandsons could face criminal charges for leaving him behind.

Mount Washington is known for erratic weather, and the incident came during efforts to raise awareness about the dangers Mount Washington poses to tourists.
