The Bridgton Fire Department is investigating a residential building fire Sunday morning that displaced 16 people.
Firefighters were called to the scene while South High Street was shut down.
The Press Herald reports an initial investigation determined the fire could have been started by something on a stove and that it had spread into the building’s insulation.
Firefighters were called back to the scene Sunday afternoon for two hours after embers reignited the fire.
The American Red Cross in assisting the people displaced by the fire.
