More businesses are opening their doors Monday under the governor’s revised plan for reopening the economy.
Retail stores in 12 Maine counties can reopen as long as certain health and safety precautions are in place.
The stores are in counties with fewer cases and no confirmed community transmission.
The governor announced her rural reopening plan Friday after saying earlier in the week that the state had expanded its testing capacity.
Retail stores can reopen in all but York, Cumberland, Penobscot and Androscoggin Counties.
They are required to restrict the number of customers in a store at one time and enhance cleaning practices. Also, transactions must be touch-free whenever possible.
Under the rural reopening plan, restaurants can reopen on Monday, May 18.
