A former Calais police officer who pleaded guilty to dealing drugs less than a week after retirement will face sentencing next month.

According to the Bangor Daily News, 55-year-old Jeffrey Bishop entered his plea last month.

He was arrested in Feb. 2021 after he was spotted giving drugs to a 17-year-old girl in the parking lot of a Harrington high school.

Bishop gave her a pill bottle containing acetaminophen and hydrocodone pills and three baggies of fentanyl that were intended for her mother.

Police also seized stolen guns from his home after executing a search warrant.

Bishop will be sentenced on 14 felony charges on Oct. 17.
