OLD ORCHARD BEACH, Maine (WGAN) Police are investigating an armed robbery in Old Orchard Beach Wednesday night.

According to the Portland Press Herald, police said a male suspect wearing a sweatshirt, ski mask and sunglasses entered the Moby Dick Variety store on East Grand Avenue just before 5 p.m. Wednesday. The suspect was armed with a handgun and demanded all the cash in the register, Old Orchard Beach police Capt. David Hemingway said. The suspect appeared to flee on foot without any cash after the clerk grabbed a club, according to Hemingway.

Police described the suspect as 5-foot-8 inches tall with a slim build. The Portland Press Herald reports at least 3 other people were inside the store during the robbery.

Anyone with information is encouraged to speak to the Old Orchard Beach Police Department.
