Rockland Student Charged After Police Find Gun and Ammo in Vehicle

A gun and ammunition were found in a student’s vehicle at Oceanside High School in Rockland on Friday.

In a Facebook post from Regional School District 13, the student had made serious and concerning threats involving school safety.

Police responded to Oceanside but determined there was no immediate threat to the school.

The Portland Press Herald reports the district didn’t say where the vehicle was parked or who discovered the weapon.

According to Rockland Police, the student has been charged with possession of a firearm on school property.
