Part of Route 302 in Naples was closed throughout the overnight hours due to a crash.

The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office and Naples Fire-Rescue responded just before 8:30 p.m. Monday to a report of a single-vehicle crash near lake’s plaza.

The sheriff’s office says a 2011 Ford Escape driven by 58-year-old Ronald Spiller left the roadway and struck a telephone pole.

The Waterford man was evaluated at the scene and was not transported to the hospital.

The sheriff’s office says driver inattention or distraction may have been a contributing factor in the wreck.

The crash reportedly knocked out power to more than 1,100 Central Maine Power customers in Harrison and Naples.

The Cumberland County Regional Communications Center didn’t announce the reopening of Route 302 until just before 5 a.m. Tuesday.
