A 16-year-old from Auburn is accused of crashing a stolen car into a pond in Sabattus this month.
Police say the teen was operating the car recklessly with the lights off before crashing it into Sabattus Pond while six other juveniles were inside the morning of Oct. 18.
Sabattus police said Friday the teen faces several charges including kidnapping, reckless conduct and driving to endanger.
Police said another 16-year-old from Sabattus was recently charged with reckless conduct for firing a gun in an apartment on Main St. on Oct. 19.
The two incidents are unrelated.
In a statement, Sabattus police said:
“Parents and guardians play a critical role in preventing this behavior. Know where your children are, who they are with, and what they are doing.”
