Sabattus police search for driver in deadly hit-and-run accident

(WGME) Police are searching for the driver in a hit-and-run accident that took the life of a pedestrian in Sabattus.

It happened on Bowdoinham Road just after 5 p.m. Sunday.

Police say a vehicle struck and killed a 28-year-old woman.

The victim was identified as 28-year-old Renata Schalk of Sabattus.

The vehicle involved in the accident is believed to be a late model Dodge Ram pickup truck.

Police say it should have significant front-end damage.

Anyone with information about the accident is being asked to call the Sabattus Police Department.
