Saco police say a man who tried to elude police was arrested and charged in connection with a burglary.

Police say an officer tried to pull over the vehicle being driven by Hank Payne on Wednesday afternoon. They said Payne took off and then parked behind a hotel before fleeing the scene on foot.

A couple of hours later, a detective spotted Payne wearing different clothing and riding a bicycle. He was then taken into custody.

Payne, who’s also accused of burglarizing an unoccupied residence while hiding from police, faces multiple charges.

He’s expected to appear in court in October.
