Sanford High School student dies in New Hampshire crash, school officials say

A Sanford High School student was killed in a crash in New Hampshire Wednesday night.

Police responded to a single-vehicle crash just before 9 p.m. on Salmon Falls Rd. in Rochester.

According to CBS 13, police say one passenger died at the scene, two others in the vehicle were not seriously hurt.

Sanford school officials identified the victim as Lydia Ashline, a high school senior.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.

In a statement, Superintendent Matt Nelson said students and staff are “shocked and saddened by this tragic event.”

He said special counseling services would be available to those who need it through at least next week.
