Sanford Man Charged in 7-Eleven Robbery

A Sanford man faces charges in connection with a robbery at a 7-Eleven in Springvale last week.

Police say the 7-Eleven on Main St. in Springvale was robbed on December 1st.

Officers say their investigation identified Matthew Sommer as a suspect, and he was arrested Sunday after a search of a home on Bodwell Street in Sanford.

Sommer is charged with robbery and is being held in the York County Jail on a bail of $25,000 bail.

Officers say the Southern Maine Special Response Team, which specializes in high-risk situations, assisted with the search and arrest.
