Sanford Police say reported sexual assault did not happen

SANFORD (WGME) — The Sanford Police Department says a reported sexual assault on the trail system by the middle school did not happen.

On Friday, Sanford police say they reached this conclusion through witness interviews and video surveillance.

The sexual assault was reported to have occurred on the Mousam Way Trail between the Sanford Middle School and the Sanford Skate Park.
