Sara Gideon announced Tuesday that she raised $3.5 million in the final quarter of 2019.

A press release from Sara Gideon for Maine says grassroots support continued to grow across the state, with contributions from nearly 4,200 mainers.

It said nearly 95 percent of individual donations were under $100.

The Speaker of the Maine House of Representatives is considered the democratic front-runner in the race to challenge Susan Collins for her Senate seat.

Collins is considered vulnerable by democrats, who have attacked Collins for her votes for Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh and the GOP tax cut.
