Search for Portland’s Christmas tree kicks off

The City of Portland has launched its search for a Christmas tree.

The tree is placed in Monument Square each year.

The tree must be an evergreen, spruce or fir between 45 to 60 feet tall.

It also has to be relatively accessible, away from any powerlines or other obstructions.

The tree will be removed and transported for free.

You can go to portlandmaine.com/tree to fill out the nomination form. The deadline to submit is November 1st.
