A search is taking place off Maine for a vessel that called for help 45 miles southeast of Portland.

The U.S. Coast Guard says the search was ongoing Thursday for the vessel Hayley Ann. WCSH-TV reports the Coast Guard said two people were on board the vessel and they called for help on Thursday afternoon.

The Coast Guard says an aircraft and two helicopters from Air Station Cape Cod were also participating in the search, as well as a Coast Guard cutter.
