Maine Senator Susan Collins is considering it a win that Trumps tariffs on Canada have been paused.

The tariffs would have a significant impact on the state as the Senator said the Maine Air National Guard base in Bangor would take a direct hit from the 10 percent petroleum tariff.

She also said that considering where most Mainers’ heating fuel comes from, the tariff would have wide ranging impacts

According to CBS 13 news Collins also said that the 25 percent tariff on most products would especially hurt the forest products industry.

A paper plant in the state gets its pulp from New Brunswick, and she thinks the mill which employs over 500 people, would not survive if the tariffs were put in place.
