YORK, Maine (AP) Police in Maine say Tasers didn’t stop a habitual offender from evading arrest. They say the man escaped officers’ grasp, jumped out a window and ran barefoot into the woods during a thunderstorm.

The York Police Department said it’s searching for Corey W. Paradise, who’s wanted on outstanding warrants.

Police said an officer spotted Paradise driving on Saturday and found his car parked at a construction site.

They say he resisted arrest and managed to escape even though officers used their stun guns. Police say the search was hampered by thunderstorms.

Officers say Paradise was wanted on drug and motor vehicle violations in York and Cumberland counties. Police said he’ll now face additional charges.
