Silver Alert issued for missing Hancock County man


Police have issued a Silver Alert for a missing man from Surry.

Police say 84-year-old Franklin McCormick suffers from dementia and went missing from his home on Toddy Pond Road on Monday. McCormick is 5′ 8″, weighing 145 pounds with brown hair and green eyes.

Police say he may be driving a Toyota RAV-4 with Maine registration 9563KH.

He may be wearing jeans and a dark shirt.

Police believe McCormick may be heading to West Virginia.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office.
