Portland Press Herold reports– A Skowhegan search warrant led to the arrest of three people and the confiscation of roughly $12,000 worth of heroin, crack and powdered cocaine, Fentanyl, and drug related paraphernalia. As well as an innocent, two-foot long live alligator.

Jessica Hutchins of Skowhegan was arrested on three accounts of aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs. The charges warrant the ‘aggravated’ preface due to the amount of narcotics found within her apartment, as well as her operation taking place within 1,000 feet of Margaret Chase Smith Elementary School.

The two other arrests were her customers, Fred Barlow and Randy Willard. Their car was also seized and searched by police, finding more narcotics and paraphernalia within.  Both men are now facing similar charges to that of Hutchins.

Police say that the warrant went over without incident.

The trio await their October 7th trial, with Hutchins’ bail set at $10,000 cash.

Hutchins’ alligator was taken in by the Maine Warden Service, as owning such a reptile is illegal in the state of Maine without proper permits. It has not been charged with anything.
