Skowhegan Man Arrested Drug Trafficking After Welfare Check

A 36-year-old man faces charges after Skowhegan Police say he tried to flee from a welfare check with drugs.

Officers say Lucas Gage at Holland Variety Drug Store had an expired learner’s permit from 2006 when he attempted to drive away.

They say Gage was found with three baggies containing 10.2, 8.1, and 2.7 grams of fentanyl and was taken to the Somerset County Correctional Facility.

He’s charged with operating without a license (Class E), aggravated trafficking scheduled drugs (Fentanyl Class A), and refusing to submit to arrest or detention (Class D).

Gage has bail was set at $10,000.
