Skowhegan man charged with Murder after shooting death in Augusta

A Skowhegan Man has was charged with murder in connection to a shooting death that took place in Augusta back in February.

Officials say 30-year-old Edward Longley was charged with murder and elevated aggravated assault which occurred on February 2nd on Flagg Street in Augusta.

The victim, identified as Billyjack Curtis of Augusta died from his injuries.

A second victim, identified as 40-year-old Sherry Gilley of Brunswick, was taken to the hospital and treated for injuries, and has since been released and is recovering.

Longley was taken to Somerset County Jail, where he is being held without bail.
