Another round of snow is on tap for much of New England, especially Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont.

The National Weather Service said snow began falling Tuesday and will continue through the evening, creating the potential for a nasty commute in some places. Some events Tuesday evening were canceled because of the impending snow in northern New England.

Meteorologist James Brown from the National Weather Service said the heaviest snow accumulations of a foot or more will be in far northern Maine. He said the snow could mix with sleet on Maine and New Hampshire coast, limiting accumulation to a half foot or so.

The snow started in southern New England before working its way north. Snow accumulations will be lower in southern New England.
