SOUTH PARIS, Maine (WGAN) Police have arrested a South Paris man on drug charges.

On November 30th, Agents and Troopers searched the home of 40-year-old Josiah Heath for suspected drugs, but investigators say the crack and heroin believed inside had been flushed down the toilet, as they were entering the home on Oxford Street.

As Troopers and Agents approached the house they found two unsuspecting customers, a 31-year-old male and a 22-year-old female, outside, who were waiting to purchase drugs from the residence. Located inside were Heath, along with three young women. One of the women was located in the bathroom and is suspected of destroying the drugs as Troopers were entering the home.

Police found items associated with drug trafficking, as well as firearms. Heath, who was a convicted felon, admitted to purchasing the firearms illegally. Prescription pills were also located.

Heath was arrested and charged with Attempted Trafficking of a Scheduled Drug and being a Prohibited Person in Possession of a Firearm. He was being held at the Oxford County Jail .

The investigation into charges for the other occupants of the home continues.
