South Portland Fire Fighter Killed in Early Morning Crash

HOLLIS, Maine (WGAN)  A 21-year veteran of the South Portland Fire Department has died after a car crash in Hollis.

State Police say Lt. Harry Weymouth died after being taken to Maine Medical Center, following the crash on Route 202 in Buxton.

Police say the crash was reported around 1 a.m.  They say the 46-year-old Weymouth was driving east and crossed the center line, hitting another car.

The driver of the second car, 45-year-old Zahra Guedi, and her passenger, were taken to Maine Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries.

Troopers say is appears Weymouth likely fell asleep behind the wheel.  Speed and alcohol are not considered to be factors.
