The district attorney’s office says it will not be filing charges in connection with allegations of hazing among student athletes on Lisbon High School’s football team.

According to CBS 13 news, the office said Tuesday that the incidents were self-described by players as “horseplay” and “goofing around” and involved voluntary participation.

The Lisbon High football season was suspended in October, and one investigation revealed freshmen players were poked with a broom, or forced to participate in belt fights when coaches were not present.

The Lisbon High School athletic department is taking anti-hazing steps as an investigation into the football team’s hazing culture continues.
