Police investigate deadly crash in central Maine

State police say one man was killed and two others were injured in a one-car crash Saturday night on Hill Road in Canaan.

Troopers said the man killed was 55-year-old Scott Miller of Clinton.

He was a passenger in a car driven by 44-year-old David Johnson of Clinton.

Johnson and a second passenger, 58-year-old Robert Archer, also of Clinton, were injured in the wreck.

The crash took place at about 7 p.m., when the 2004 Ford Mustang convertible the men were riding in went off the road and struck a tree.

Troopers are looking at alcohol as a factor of the crash.

Hill Road was closed for about five hours while the crash was investigated.

Assisting troopers were Somerset Sheriff’s Deputies and the Canaan Fire Department.
