State Police charge woman in connection with Presque Isle shooting

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine (WGAN) Police have charged a woman in connection with a shooting in Presque Isle on Monday.

According to our info partners at CBS 13 news, police charged Brittney Britton with elevated, aggravated assault and aggravated reckless conduct.

Public Safety Spokesman Steve McCausland says 31-year-old Jomo White of Atlanta, Georgia was arrested Tuesday morning in Presque Isle after he was located at a local residence. White was arrested without incident.

Police say they are still looking for 44-year-old Jason Alexander. Alexander is a white male, 5-foot-9, about 220 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. He is considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information is urged to call police, and any tip leading to the capture of Alexander is eligible for a $500 reward.

Police say the shooting was reported around 5:47 a.m. Monday, when the victim called 911 to report he had been shot on Northern Road.

The man was taken to A.R. Gould Hospital where he underwent surgery.  He was later taken to Northern Maine Light Health in Bangor by LifeFlight.  He remains in critical condition.
