Maine State Police have charged a Stockton Springs woman in the death of her 3-year-old.

Earlier this week, police said the child was brought to the hospital in Belfast by his mother and grandmother on Sunday, but the boy, identified as Maddox Williams, died in the hospital.

The death was ruled a homicide following an autopsy. As a result, police took 35-year-old Jessica Williams into custody at her mother’s house in Stockton Springs on Wednesday. She’s been charged with murder.

So far, no other details have been released about the circumstances surrounding the child’s death.
