Flights are back to normal today at the Portland Jetport after heavy storms and wind brought a nearly 6 hour power outage late Thursday.

The Jetport says the outage led to 34 flight delays and 6 cancellations.

Jetport personnel say they implemented their Tarmac Delay Program and moved passengers by shuttle buses to the terminal from planes parked on the de-ice pad.

They say the thunderstorms produced large hail and caused damage to two aircraft which mechanics are addressing.

Three cancelled flights will impact departures Friday morning.

Passengers are encouraged to check with their airlines for current flight status.

The Jetport recorded a 69-mile-per-hour wind gust Thursday, the eighth strongest on record.

Power was restored at the Jetport at 9:07 pm Thurs
