Suspect Flees After Robbing Restaurant in Portland

PORTLAND, Maine (WGNA) The search continues for a suspect involved in an armed robbery at Mi Sen Noodle Bar in Portland on Saturday.

Police on Tuesdsay released surveillance photos of the suspect.

Police say a male entered the restaurant at 630 Congress Street around 9:50pm that night asking to use the restroom. He then tried to open the register while demanding money and threatening the clerk with a knife. No one was injured. Police say the man made off with an undisclosed amount of money and the cash drawer from the register.

The suspect fled east on Congress Street and briefly tried to enter the passenger side door of a car that was stopped in traffic on Congress Street at High Street but the door was locked. He was last seen running on High Street towards Spring Street.

The suspect was described as a white male 6’01” tall, medium build with scruffy facial hair. He was wearing an oversized dark colored jacket over a beige shirt, over a pink shirt and a green hooded sweatshirt. Witnesses said he smelled of alcohol and appeared intoxicated.

Anyone with information is being asked to call Portland police.
