Suspect in Corinna armed robbery arrested

CORINNA, Maine (WGAN) An arrest has been made in connection with an armed robbery in Corinna early Friday morning.

Maine State Police say 43-year-old Mark Dunlop was taken into custody at his home early Friday afternoon. He’s accused of robbing the A-E Robinson Store on Newport Road in Corinna while brandishing a handgun around 2:30 a.m. Friday.

Police say the clerk at the store refused to hand over the money and then hid in the store office. Police say the suspect then fled on foot.

Dunlop was taken to the Penobscot County Jail.

Troopers said the Somerset Sheriff’s Office assisted in the investigation, along with the Maine Warden Service, and Dexter and Newport police.
