Swatting Calls Across Maine, Country Today Not a Threat

The Mainew State Police say they can confirm that there is no threat to the public after numerous swatting calls in Maine and around the country.

Swatting is a hoax threat where someone fakes some kind of emergency, like a shooting, that draws attention from law enforcement.

Maine State Police say local police were sent to schools in numerous areas, including Oxford, Berwick, South Portland and Bangor.
