AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) Maine court officials say a teenager convicted of killing his mother after an argument about missing marijuana will serve 33 years in prison.
Lukas Mironovas appeared in court Thursday for sentencing in Augusta.
Police say another teenager helped Mironovas strangle his mother before Mironovas stabbed her in the neck. The Kennebec Journal reports Mironovas will serve the first 18 months of his sentence at Long Creek Youth Development Center in South Portland before being transferred to another facility.
Documents say the killing happened in April 2018 after Kimberly Mironovas confronted her son and two teenage friends about the missing pot.
