Instead of declaring a parking ban like many other cities and town in Maine are the City of Portland is asking residents for voluntary compliance in not parking on the street tonight during the snowstorm.

If you need a place to park you can use the snow ban lots such as the Spring Street parking garage which is offering its $3 rate for parking overnight.  You can park in school lots because it’s the weekend and school is not in session.

If enough cars are off the street tonight and the city is able to clear enough snow they will not need to declare a parking ban on Sunday night.
