Police say Falmouth High School was evacuated Friday morning due to a threat.

Out of an abundance of caution, Falmouth school leaders closed all schools in the district.

Falmouth Police Chief John Kilbride said, “the campus is secure,” and police “will continue to investigate this threat.”

Meanwhile, all schools in nearby Yarmouth were closed Friday due to online threats.

The threats in Falmouth and Yarmouth follow an active shooter hoax that caused schools in at least 10 Maine school districts to go on lockdown Tuesday.
