Three charged with helping Montville man evade police custody


Three Belfast residents have been charged with helping a Montville man escape police custody.

Robert Porter, 39, was arrested Thursday for reportedly violating his probation.

According to CBS 13, Porter was taken by correctional officers to Waldo County General Hospital on Saturday for treatment of an ongoing medical issue.

While at the hospital, police say Porter got away and fled the area on foot.

Porter was found that night at a home in Belfast and taken back into custody.

Daniel Therrien, 37, Everett Hall, 56, and Rosemarie Breen, 42, are now charged with aiding escape.

Therrien was also charged with unlawful trafficking of scheduled drugs and violation of conditional release.
