Three Hurt in Arundel Accident

ARUNDEL, Maine (WGAN)  Three people were hurt after a three-car crash in Arundel on Thursday.

The York County Sheriff’s Office says 39-year-old Shawna Taylor was slowing down on Portland Road to turn left onto Post Road around noon when she was hit from behind by 27-year-old Christopher Doten.

Police say Doten’s car then went into the other lane, colliding head-on with a car being driven by Ann Croaken.  Croaken’s husband, Ronald, was also in the car.

Police say the impact caused Doten to be trapped inside his car.  He had to be extricated by Biddeford, Kennebunk and Arundel Rescue crews.  He was taken to Southern Maine Healthcare in Biddeford with severe head injuries.  He’s listed in stable condition.

Police say Ann Croaken suffered a broken arm and Ronald Croaken suffered a laceration on his arm.  Both were taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland.

The crash is still under investigation.
