Topsham Police Warn About Surge in Car Break-Ins


Police in Topsham are warning residents about car break-ins after taking reports of smashed windows and stolen items last weekend.

Officers say the cars were parked near a trailhead for the Cathance River Preserve.

Police are urging people not to leave valuable items visible in the car like wallets or purses.

They also say the many trails around Topsham with parking lots and they’re not all monitored, which leaves people responsible for protecting their belongings.
