Brewer’s planning board has given unanimous approval for a 12-acre solar array.

According to CBS 13 news, the proposed site is located behind the Lowe’s store and will be connected to Arista Drive.

The vote took place following a public hearing for the project on Monday night.

The array would generate two megawatts of power.

The developer, Andrew Kellar, founder of the New Hampshire-based NH Solar Garden, says he hopes to begin construction early next year, and expects it take three to four months, weather permitting.
