PORTLAND, Maine (WGAN) A stretch of the Maine Turnpike was closed down for several hours Friday morning.

A tractor trailer overturned, spilling cleaning solvent in the roadway around 6:00AM. Police say the driver, 57-year-old Richard Keith Lamont Parncutt of Ohio, struck the barriers in a construction zone before rolling over.

The northbound lanes between exit 45 in South Portland and exit 47 in Portland were closed for about four hours.

Police say Parncutt was taken to Maine Medical Center with minor injuries. There were no other vehicles involved in the accident.
