Traffic stop in Aroostook County leads to drug charges for New Hampshire man

A New Hampshire man is facing drug charges after a traffic stop on I-95 in Maine.

Maine’s Drug Enforcement Agency says 34-year-old Timothy Pinkham of Somersworth, New Hampshire, was arrested after investigators received a tip about a vehicle traveling from Massachusetts to Aroostook County with illegal narcotics.

A trooper stopped Pinkham’s vehicle on I-95 in Sherman on Tuesday. Police said Pinkham tried to dispose of suspected fentanyl during the stop. Authorities found methamphetamine and fentanyl inside the vehicle.

Pinkham faces several drug-related charges and is being held at Aroostook County Bail on $75,000 cash bail.
