Trio of teens charged with arson of former Lewiston lumber company

Three teenagers have been charged with arson after police say they set two fires at the old Pineland Lumber Co. in Lewiston.

According to our news partners at CBS13, the fire happened on Avon Street around 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

The fire caused heavy damage to one of the buildings on the site, according to police. These buildings were abandoned.

A team of investigators from the State Fire Marshal’s Office and the Lewiston Police Department investigated the incident and discovered that three teenage boys, ages 13, 14, and 15, were responsible for setting the fires.

The three teens, all from Lewiston, were arrested and charged with Arson and released into the custody of their parents.
