Police have cited the driver of a tractor-trailer that crashed on I-295 in Yarmouth on Wednesday.
The truck was hauling compressed natural gas cylinders when it crashed on the northbound side of the highway.
The wreck occurred at about 9 a.m., and the northbound lanes didn’t fully reopen until just before midnight.
According to CBS 13, police say the driver drifted out of his lane as the lanes shifted in a construction zone.
The truck bounced off the jersey barrier, and then crashed into the other barrier along the median, causing the trailer to detach from the tractor unit, which came to rest on a car.
The truck driver was a 55-year-old man from New Hampshire.
He wasn’t hurt but was issued a citation for failing to maintain his lane.
Police say the truck was registered to Xpress Natural Gas, which assisted in the cleanup effort.
