Former President Donald Trump wants Maine’s Secretary of State to disqualify herself from making a decision on whether he can appear on the state’s Presidential primary ballot.

In a filing Wednesday, attorneys for former President Trump said statements that Shenna Bellows made on social media show she already has decided Trump engaged in insurrection.

His legal team says the comments also show that she is biased against him.

A spokesperson for Bellows said she will not comment while challenges to the former President’s access to the ballot are pending.

The Portland Press Herald reports that a ruling on three challenges is expected to come by the end of the week.

The Press Herald says Trump’s role in the Jan. 6 Capitol Hill riot and whether it represented an insurrection are key factors in the decision.
