Two Arrested in Auburn Drug Raid

Auburn Police - Drug Bust


Auburn Police say a traffic stop gave them information leading to a raid where a large amount of illegal drugs from out of state were found.

Officers say they conducted the raid at 3:05 am Saturday at the Quality Inn on Washington Street North, where they found approximately 15 grams of suspected cocaine, fentanyl pills, and more than $5,000 in suspected drug proceeds.

They arrested 33-year-old Mantrell Tidwell and 22-year-old Anita Tanis, both of Lewiston, on several charges, including drug trafficking.

Police say the investigation indicates that the illegal drugs were transported from Connecticut for distribution in the Lewiston/Auburn area.

The Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit assisted Auburn Police with the execution of the search warrant.

This investigation remains ongoing.

Mantrell Tidwell, 33, of Lewiston, was arrested and charged with Unlawful Trafficking of Cocaine (Class B), Unlawful Trafficking of Fentanyl (Class B), and Falsifying Physical Evidence (Class D). Tidwell’s bail was set at $10,000.

Anita Tanis, 22, also of Lewiston, was arrested and charged with Unlawful Trafficking of Cocaine (Class B) and Unlawful Trafficking of Fentanyl (Class B). Her bail was set at $7,500.
