Two Arrested on Drug Charges in Jay


JAY, Maine (WGAN) Drug agents have made two arrests in connection with drug trafficking.

The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency says 37-year-old Angie Braley of Jay and 20-year-old Darnell Smith of New York have been arrested and charged with selling heroin and crack cocaine.

On Sunday, Jay Police and the MDEA received information that drugs were being sold out of an apartment at 446 Main Street in Jay. Drug agents went to the apartment Monday morning to find Braley and Smith inside. They seized 121 grams of heroin and 82 grams of crack. The street value of the drugs is $45,000. Agents also seized other items related to drug trafficking.

The two were arrested and taken to the Franklin County Jail without incident. Bail was set at $20,000 cash for Braley. Smith’s bail was set at $100,000 cash. They were expected to appear in court Monday afternoon.
