Two Arrested on Drug Charges in York County


MAINE (WGAN)  The York County Sheriff’s Office says two out-of-staters were arrested on drug charges over the weekend.

Police say around 11 p.m. on July 14, deputies along with Maine State Police and FBI agents, arrested 27-year-old Freddy Michel Peguero-Matos and 45-year-old Laurie Fantasia for aggravated trafficking.

The Boston, Massachusetts man and Nashua, New Hampshire woman were stopped in a vehicle which police say had about 350 grams of suspected fentanyl, a street value of about $36,500.

Peguero-Matos had bail set at $100,000 and Fantasia’s bail was set at $50,000.

Both have court appearances in Alfred Superior Court scheduled for Oct. 3.
